The Text Book Writing Committee was formed in 2009 for the purpose of writing our own text books for the learning and teaching of the Punjabi Language in Malaysia. Sardar Piara Singh was appointed head of this Committee.

In the year 2010, the Committee set up in Ipoh has formulated text books for Kindergarten 1 and 2. In 2011 these books were used by Kindergarten classes nationwide on a trial basis. The feedback we received from the Teachers and administrators was very encouraging. We reprinted the books for use in 2012. At the present stage, we are adding color pages to the books to make them more attractive for the children.

Primary books are being edited and finalised, and will be ready for use nationwide in 2013. The hardworking committee is now being led by Professor Dr. Kuldip Kaur, with Sardar Piara Singh still at its helm.
